| Mr. Gao Hucheng Attends China (Dalian) International Garment and Textile Fair |

First Session of China (Dalian) International Garment and Textile Fair jointly held by MOFCOM, China National Textile and Apparel Council and Dalian Municipal People's Government from Sep 9-12 in Dalian. Vice Minister Gao Hucheng attended the opening ceremony and made a speech at the Forum on World Famous Brand and Chinese Market.
Mr. Gao said since China was the biggest country of production, consumption and export on textile and garment, development of China's textile industry contributed greatly to economic and social development of China and the world. Export value of textile in 2005 was US$115bln, up by 21% year-on-year; meanwhile textile export value in Jan-Jun 2006 amounted to US$76.2bln, up by 21.6%. Grade and added value of textile and garment gradually improved, productive technique kept progressing, international cooperation strengthened, and win-win trade structure has formed.
Mr. Gao said, as expansion of textile industry scale, changes of market demand and fierce competition of domestic and foreign markets, issues laying deeply in textile industry stood out gradually. China's textile industry should accelerate adjustment on technological structure, enlarge IPR protection, strive to push forward construction of China's brand, promote core competence, transfer growth pattern, exert roles of intermediary institutions, actively carry out international communication and cooperation, and realize sustained and healthy development of textile industry.
During the Fair, Mr. Gao met with guests attended the Fair and expressed appreciations. He also earnestly heard their proposals and suggestions for the Fair.
Approved by State Council, Dalian International Garment and Textile Fair, which successfully held for 17 sessions, is promoted to be China (Dalian) International Garment and Textile Fair. With an area of 45,000 square meters, first session of the Fair consists of 1,800 exhibition seats and attracts 700 enterprises and over 10,000 businessmen at home and abroad.
