Gao Hucheng Met with WTO’s Director-General Azevedo
Chinese Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng met with WTO’s new Director-General Azevedo in St. Petersburg, Russia on September 5.
Mr. Gao said China will support the work of WTO as always, and hopes the new Director-General and his team to play an important role in strengthening the multilateral trading system and in closing the Doha Round Negotiations. China will be active in consultations at all levels and to make contributions to early agreements at the 9th Session of WTO Ministerial Meeting.
Mr. Azevedo said that WTO would like to strengthen cooperation with China, and jointly promote the Doha Round to make substantive progress at the 9th Ministerial Meeting, so as to conclude the negotiations as early as possible
